Rest

Taking a break from training can be a difficult decision to make, but remember that the true value of running lies not in the frequency or intensity of your workouts, but in the mindfulness and discipline you cultivate within yourself. Take a step back and reflect on your goals, your motivations, and your current physical and mental state. Remember that rest and recovery are just as important as the work itself, and that taking time off can actually lead to greater growth and progress in the long run. Embrace the challenge of stepping away from the routine, and use the time to focus on other aspects of your life, such as relationships, hobbies, and personal growth. Seneca once said: 'It is not that we have a short time to live, but that we waste a lot of it.' So use your time wisely, both on and off the trail, and let every decision be guided by wisdom and purpose.

After my #100mileultra in March I intentionally took time off from any structured strength or training. That time has been amazing and allowing myself to naturally come back was hard, but the right decision. It allowed me to realize how much I miss my trail family and having a mission.
