First Look: Brookes Caldera 7
I recently got my hands on the Brooks Caldera 7 and over the last few days have been putting them through their paces. Here’s a sneak peek into what this new iteration brings to the table.
Design and Construction
At first glance, it showcases a bulky and modern design with some really nice colorways, like a trail running version of Yeezy’s. The shoe looks durable with layers of breathable mesh and a new cage construction. The slightly updated outsole pattern and lugs appear promising, hinting at decent traction and stability on various terrains.
Comfort and Fit
Slipping my feet into the Caldera 7 felt snug and secure. The new DNA LOFT v3 cushioning seems promising for providing a balance between support and comfort during runs. Definitely a firmer feel than I expected and took a few miles to break in. However, my favorite part is the slightly wider toe box, which will be beneficial on those longer days out on the trail.
Performance
My initial impressions suggest that the shoe holds potential for remarkable performance on trails. The redesigned outsole seems well-equipped to handle rugged paths, while the midsole cushioning hints at providing the necessary responsiveness for a smoother ride. I’m eager to put these shoes through their paces on diverse terrains to assess their real-world performance.
